The programs offered are approved by The Higher Education Commission as well as The Pakistan Engineering Council. IST also offers Linked Graduate Programs in collaboration with foreign universities in a host of disciplines, providing a solution to earn a foreign degree economically.

Special NAT-1E Test for IST admissions is being conducted on 27 Aug 2011 for the candidates who could not take test so far. Registration dead line for the same test was 19 Aug 2011.

Teaching and training to generate a cadre of manpower specifically trained in molecular biology and recombinant DNA technology.

Undertake goal oriented molecular biological research on specific problems, in agriculture, health & medicine, industry, energy and environmental sectors.

Create a repository of DNA enzymes, DNA cloning vectors, novel bacterial strains and other such molecular tools for ready availability and use by various research groups at this Centre and other DNA research laboratories in Pakistan.

Organize national and international seminars and conferences for in-depth discussions on scientific and technological developments which will lead to new ideas and innovative applications of knowledge in gene cloning and recombinant DNA technology.
